In recent days, expectations and controversy were generated about the possible establishment of the Telsa company in the municipality of Santa Catarina, Nuevo León, some in favor, others against, and the issue of water scarcity as decisive for the granting of the permit.  

On February 28, it was reported that Tesla will invest $5 billion for the construction of the plant.

This plant will be Tesla's largest in the world.

Cannounced Wednesday afternoon its CEO, Elon Musk, during the Investor Day 2023 from Austin, Texas, where the company's parent company is located.

Before dozens of guests, including the governor of Nuevo León and the undersecretary of Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), Samuel García and Martha Delgado, respectively, the US tycoon said that the growth expectations of his company is that by 2030 they will be a key piece in a sustainable economy, building long-range aircraft and ships that use another type of energy than coal.  TheSemi tractor-trailer, the resurrected Roadster sports car and the Model 3 sedan will be produced.

This plant could be operational in two years; that is, in 2025.
